Tax Reform
Written May 14, 2006
Now that the trauma of tax day is over, let’s change the laws. Here are my suggestions:
1) Increase deductions for medical expenses: Sick or dead people can’t make money to tax.
2) Allow a 100% tax deduction for monthly or yearly passes to public or mass transportation—a way to clear up some highways.
3) Get the IRS out of politics: All 501(c)(3) organizations should be able to say, “elect these or those candidates because they promote our version of athletics, youth clubs, the environment, religion or (fill in your favorite issue).” The market place rather than the IRS should regulate freedom of speech.
These three tax reforms will help us Americans to experience more freedom to talk, travel and stay alive.
